Kissing Balloon Dilatation of a Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement Within an Extra-Large D-Shaped Annuloplasty Ring

Abstract: Paravalvular leak (PVL) is a recognized complication of transcatheter mitral valve replacement when a circular transcatheter heart valve (THV) is implanted within a D-shaped annuloplasty ring. Here we present the use of a novel kissing balloon dilatation method to improve THV apposition within the annuloplasty ring and reduce PVL.
