Abstract: Scapulothoracic dissociation is a rare and serious type of trauma caused by musculoskeletal, vascular, and brachial plexus injuries owing to lateral displacement of the scapula with a strong blunt external force. Here, we describe the treatment of an open scapulothoracic dissociation patient and summarize the findings.
