Impacts of thermal stress on turkey poults
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Turkey poult performance, feed intake, and water consumption are negatively altered with thermal stress (heat or cold stress). During a recent study, poults were unexpectedly exposed to differential thermal stress during the first week of life. To determine the lasting impacts, performance data from the trial were analyzed to determine the impacts of mild thermal stress during the first week on lifetime performance. In this study, thermal stress did not affect poult growth performance and feed intake.
