Abstract: This article presents the main provisions of the copyright institution in Russia and China. A comparative analysis of copyright objects and the conditions of their protectability under the legislation of Russia and China is carried out, the types of copyright, their content and validity periods are considered, as well as issues of disposal of property copyrights and their protection. The article presents an analysis of a Chinese court decision on the protection of copyright on a financial report generated by a computer program, which became the subject of discussion at the WIPO Intellectual Property Judges Forum.
