Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Aim. To analyze the data of clinical and laboratory studies and the results of local therapy of vaginal infections of mixed etiology in women of reproductive age with a fixed combomation of clotrimazole and metronidazole gel. Material and methods. Data from medical records and microbiological research data for 2024 was analyzed in a retrospective study. Patients with non-specific vaginal mixed infections received topical therapy with clotrimazole+metronidazole gel (n=35). The duration of follow-up of patients, according to outpatient records, was 3 weeks.Results. Сlinical symptoms and laboratory parameters completely regressed, pH of vaginal secretions decreased to 3.9±0.7 (p=0.016), aminotest was negative in 35 (100%) patients by the end of local therapy with vaginal gel (clotrimazole+metronidazole). After treatment, microbiological eradication was achieved in all 35 (100%) patients, while eradication of fungal-bacterial associations of C. albicans and Gardnerella spp. was achieved in 27 (77.2%). No serious side effects have been reported. Conclusion. Local therapy with a fixed combination of clotrimazole and metronidazole gel was effective and safe, clinical and laboratory treatment occurred in all 35 patients (100%).
