Testicular torsion in children: A series of seven cases
Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Case Report
Abstract: Testicular torsion (TT) is the rotation of the testis to the longitudinal axis of the spermatic cord, which impedes testicular blood supply. Haemorrhagic infarction of the testis starts 2 h after the torsion; irreversible vascular injury appears 6 h later and complete infarction starts 24 h later. Clinically suspected cases often pose a diagnostic dilemma since colour Doppler ultrasonography cannot yield a precise and conclusive diagnosis. In this case series, we share our experiences with various forms of TT and re-evaluate the critical presentations, clinical and radiology findings and tests to improve the diagnosis and treatment.
