Matting of Coatings Based on Water-Based Acrylic Resins

Abstract: This review highlights the main factors that affect a matt appearance of coatings. The physical methods for matting are analyzed, and the application prospects of matting agents are considered. The modern methods of chemical formation of a rough surface for matting of films are presented. It is shown that siloxane derivatives can be effectively used for matting by both physical and chemical methods.
