Generation of Mode-Locked Dissipative Solitons with Sidebands in an Erbium-Doped Fiber Laser Using Bi2Te3

Abstract: In the experiment carried out, we constructed mode-locked Erbium Doped Pulsed Fiber Laser (EDFL) with the aid of Bismuth Telluride (Bi2Te3). The SA was applied to surface of fiber ferrule through an optical deposition. The generated optical spectrum had flat top and accompanied with sidebands. The mode-locked EDFL was operating at repetition rate of 12.1 MHz and pulse width of 0.9 ps. The home-made SA is capable inducing saturable absorption effect for optical pulse generation in a typical EDFL cavity.
