Abstract: ABSTRACT: Amniotic membrane (AM) is widely used in ophthalmology because of its antiinflammatory, antiscarring, and wound healing promoting properties, which are due in part to a key matrix component, heavy chain-hyaluronan/pentraxin3. Herein, we assess various processing methods used to manufacture AM sheet products and their effect on the biological properties of AM mediated by heavy chain-hyaluronan/pentraxin3.
