Abstract: Stability indices are crucial in power systems as they assess system stability under different operating conditions and help prevent voltage collapse and system instability. As a key technical index, the voltage stability of new energy power station is directly related to the stable operation and safety of the whole power system. This paper primarily discusses the comparative study of static voltage stability indices for evaluating the integration of wind farms and photovoltaic power stations into the IEEE 14-bus system. The selected static voltage stability indices in this study include the load margin index, SVSMR (Static Voltage Stability Margin Ratio), and NVSI (New Voltage Stability Index) at the grid connection points of renewable energy stations. The paper uses PSAT to model the integration of wind farms and photovoltaic power stations into the IEEE 14-bus system, and evaluates and compares the static voltage stability indices applicable to renewable energy grid integration systems. Simulation results show that the above indices are effective in assessing the static voltage stability of renewable energy grid-connected systems.
