Abstract: Concerns have been raised about the verifiability of the gastric cancer cell lines used in “A miR-567-PIK3AP1-PI3K/AKT-c-Myc feedback loop regulates tumour growth and chemoresistance in gastric cancer”, as highlighted in a recent study in the International Journal of Cancer (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ijc.34995). Specifically, the BGC803 cell line does not meet established criteria for verification, including indexing in Cellosaurus, availability through external repositories, and the presence of short tandem repeat validation profiles.
