Abstract: This article provides a comprehensive overview of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the importance of Identity and Access Management (IAM) in ensuring compliance with the proposed HIPAA Security Rule updates for protecting the security and privacy of healthcare information. We also explore challenges, best practices, and latest trends of using IAM to secure health information and achieve HIPAA compliance.
