Abstract: A ritual jointly organized by three Pre-Hispanic Indigenous peoples in Lagos de Moreno (Jalisco, Mexico) is the topic of this article, which examines how an old alliance has been renewed to reclaim a common history and a shared origin of these indigenous societies. The ritual here is an act of resistance in the face of detrimental state policies and attempts to deny the existence of these peoples or erase them.
