Abstract: This paper explores the silences, missed encounters, and unnoticed convergences, as well as the reciprocal avoidances, between, on one hand, Canguilhem’s writings and thought—particularly his criticism of psychology and its social applications—and, on the other hand, the work of certain contemporary psychologists, namely Meyerson and especially Wallon. These psychologists shared many of Canguilhem’s critiques, and encounters, convergences, and controversies could undoubtedly have emerged had they crossed paths during their lifetimes.
