Teaching Approaches Utilizing Promotional Videos in Korean Language Education: Focused on Ukrainian Korean language learners

Abstract: In Ukrainian Korean language education, researchers have tried to study Korean culture education from various perspectives. However, some still find it challenging. Existing cultural education approaches often serve as supplementary tools for practising grammar and vocabulary, offering fragmented information without immersing learners in the richness of the Korean culture. This article aims to propose educational approaches that foster cultural competence, specifically targeting beginner learners of Korean. The significance of utilizing promotional materials with spiritual themes in education is briefly discussed. Despite being beginners, learners seek to connect their background knowledge and experiences with instructional videos on Korean culture. They aim to understand how their background influences their learning process and explore the potential of using promotional videos to teach Korean culture to beginners.
