Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Laparoscopic cholecystectomy represented a significant advance, establishing itself as the gold standard in the surgical management of symptomatic cholelithiasis. Although usually this routine procedure is simple, in a subset of cases it can be distressing, with negative surgical consequences. The laparoscopic approach to a difficult gallbladder discovered intraoperatively has been a relevant topic of discussion for several years. Managing this scenario requires a common-sense strategy to ensure patient safety. Through this article, we identify specific elements from recent literature evidence to be adopted in practice in difficult gallbladder laparoscopic situations to promote positive outcomes
