153TiP High-dose rate Interstitial brachytherapy as monotherapy for extremities soft tissue sarcoma: A phase II study
Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Clinical Trial
Abstract: Soft tissue sarcomas (STSs) are rare tumors requiring multimodal management. The current standard of care combines surgery and adjuvant external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) to achieve local control (LC). However, EBRT is associated with significant treatment durations and late toxicities. Interstitial brachytherapy (BRT) offers a highly conformal radiation delivery method, potentially serving as a monotherapy to improve resource utilization and patient convenience. Limited evidence exists for brachytherapy as monotherapy in extremity STSs.
