Abstract: The purpose of the work is to manage the development of speed-strength qualities of young football players at the stage of specialized basic training. The scientific novelty is the creation of an indicative program for the development of speed-strength qualities for the specified contingent. The methodological basis of the study was: theoretical analysis and generalization of the experience of sports practice in the development of speed-strength qualities of football players, in particular young football players at the stage of specialized basic training; pedagogical experiment in the process of longitudinal research; pedagogical methods; mathematical processing of results (absolute and percentage analysis of empirical data). The theoretical foundations of the development of speed-strength qualities in the process of training football players are substantiated. Background testing was conducted on selected control tests: “15-meter run from a place”, “15-meter run from a walk”, “Long jump from a place”, “Hitting the ball at a distance with a strong leg”, “Hitting the ball at a distance with a weak leg”. Using mathematical statistics methods, the average group indicators in the selected tests were determined. A program for the development of speed and strength qualities of young football players in the structure of the annual training cycle was developed. Based on the background and repeated sections of the testing results of young football players 16-17 years old during the year, the growth rates of the results of the studied contingent were estimated. Thus, in the tests “Running 15 meters from a place”, “Running 15 meters from a walk” there were improvements, but with unreliable significance at P>0.05. In the tests “Long jump from a place”, “Hitting the ball at a distance with a strong leg”, “Hitting the ball at a distance with a weak leg” we also observe an improvement in the results, but with reliable significance (P<0.05).
