Abstract: Russian is the state language not only in Russia, but also in many republics of the near abroad, even after the artificial disintegration of the Soviet Union. In many republics, at the same time, the state languages are also the languages of aboriginal peoples. In the conditions of coexistence of several languages for more than a hundred years, interesting relationships for the theory of language are formed: a vertical language continuum is observed, where the Russian language fulfils the role of an acrolect, local colloquialisms act as mesolects, at the same time a colloquial Russian language is formed, absorbing more and more features of local languages. Our work investigates such a variant of Russian in the conditions of Dagestani multilingualism, which acquires features of a dialect, as changes are observed at all levels of the language from phonetics to syntax.
