Effect of Rashba Spin–Orbit Interaction and Impurity Factor on the Linear and Nonlinear Optical Properties of Tuned Quantum Dot System with Vertical Magnetic Field
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This research provides an extensive theoretical analysis of the influence of impurity factor, Rashba spin–orbit interaction, and external magnetic field on the optical absorption coefficients (ACs) and refractive index changes (RICs) pertinent to the transitions between the two lowest electronic states in the InxGa1‐xAs quantum dot system. The quantum dot system is exposed to a uniform magnetic field oriented perpendicular to the structural plane and is excited by a monochromatic electromagnetic field, considering intersub‐band transitions for electrons. The energy eigenstates and corresponding wavefunctions are computed within the framework of the effective mass approximation and the parabolic band approximation. Utilizing the compact‐density matrix formalism and iterative techniques, the linear and nonlinear optical ACs and RICs are computed. Numerical interpretations indicate that the peaks of the linear and nonlinear optical AC and RIC shifts tend to move toward red and blueshift with varying external parameters. Simultaneously, the amplitude of the AC and RIC peaks exhibits enhancement or diminution in response to parameter alterations. The outcomes of this study hold remarkable implications for the advancement of optoelectronic devices that rely on quantum dots.
