Abstract: In addition to the five treaties that form the core of international space law, the resolutions adopted by the United Nations General Assembly have served as a tool for influencing the framework of legal regulations governing space activities by the States. These instruments, which constitute the soft law of international law, have fulfilled different functions depending on the period in which they were adopted. In the period preceding the so-called era of treaty law, the resolutions laid the foundation for the establishment of a binding legal framework to regulate space activities. During the so-called UNGA resolutions era, the States adopted resolutions that served as instruments to shape the principles governing specific aspects of state space activities. Resolutions adopted in the third era, after 2004, have acted as instruments influencing the interpretation of the provisions of space treaties.
