Abstract: The article presents the features of developing a methodology for physical education in a natural environment for schoolchildren with the aim of forming health-preserving competence. The necessity of integrating natural factors into the process of physical education in order to increase students' motivation for physical activity, strengthen their health, and form health-preserving competence is substantiated. The methodology of physical education, which takes into account the age and individual characteristics of students, the specifics of the natural environment and seasonal changes, is presented. Classes are structured in such a way as to ensure the adaptation of children and adolescents to physical activity, using the possibilities of the natural environment. For primary school students, the emphasis is on game forms of motor activity that contribute to the development of coordination of movements, agility and general physical activity. In middle school age, elements of sports orientation, competitive activities, as well as exercises requiring greater endurance are added. Older students perform more complex motor tasks, which include overcoming natural obstacles, exercises to develop strength, endurance and speed. In the spring and summer, special attention is paid to running exercises, sports games and water activities, while in the fall, endurance exercises, terrain orientation and hiking are effective. In winter, snow cover is used for skiing, ice skating and winter team games. Special emphasis is placed on the development of the motivational component through the use of gamification elements, a rating system of achievements and competitive elements. The conducted research confirms the effectiveness of the proposed methodology, which is manifested in increasing the level of physical fitness, improving the psycho-emotional state and forming the health-saving competence of students.
