Reno Protective Role of Propolis Against Chronic Sodiumarsenite Exposure: Apoptotic And Angiogenesis Activity.

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Apoptotic activation and regulation of angiogenesis is one of the strategies for prolonged inflammation treatment. The present experiment designed in attempt to investigate the protective role of propolis extract against prolong nephrotoxicity caused by Arsenic exposure via modulating proapoptic marker (caspase3) and angiogenesis vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Thirty female Westar rats were divided into to three groups handled for 60 days as follows:-1st group : Control , 2nd group: T2 :given 20ppm of AS in drinking water3rd T2Pgroup given 20 ppm of AS water and gavage 28mg/kg propolis extract. Results of kidney function tests showed significant increase in plasma urea and creatinine and albuminuria, while eGFR was reduced significantly in 20ppmAs Immunohistochmestary analysis for caspase3 and VEGF expression showed that propolis extract induced apoptosis via increase caspase3 and reduced the VEGF expression. In conclusion, Propolis extract protective role against arsenic nephrotoxicity mediated by regulation apoptosis and angiogenesis can be protected by propolis
