Abstract: We developed a novel single layer, radially compartmentalized paper chip (RCP-Chip) for the simultaneous detection of multiple SARS-CoV-2 genes by reverse-transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) assay.We present pH-based colorimetric detection of envelope (E) and nucleocapsid (N) genes through yellow (positive) and pink (negative) in ~4 min, with 10 copies μL -1 sensitivity.We further enhance visual detection, to pinkish-purple color in ~5 min (overall ~9 min), by plasmonic sensing via insitu gold nanoparticle (AuNP) synthesis.RCP-Chip can be modified to detect other viral/bacterial pathogens.
