Abstract: These authors contributed equally to this work This study investigates a rapid, label-free Point-of-Care diagnostic method for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) detection, employing an electronic platform incorporating Nanowell impedance sensors.Nanowell comprises a microfabricated 5x5 well array functionalized with antibodies.Upon interaction with target proteins in testing samples, detectable responses are generated, as illustrated in Fig 1. Nanowell demonstrates a detection limit of 10 ng/mL for COVID spike proteins (COVIDSP), with specificity in distinguishing COVIDSP from MERS-CoV spike proteins (MERSSP).Compared to conventional methods like lateral flow strips and microfluidic sensors, Nanowell offers advantages such as low false positive rates, clear signals, and compatibility with human saliva without requiring sample washing.
