Lineage Cell and Mass Tracking in Low Refractive Index Microwells Via Quantitative Phase Imaging
Year: 2024
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: Quantitative measurement of cell lineages has the potential to aid in the study of multiple fundamental and applied questions in biology, ranging from how cells regulate their size to how individual cancer cells and their progeny respond to therapy. However, due to challenges in measurement of cell size in mammalian cells as well as the typically high motility of mammalian cells, approaches to study heredity of cell size and growth have typically been limited to yeast or bacterial cells that have consistent shape and limited motility. In this work we present a combine microfabrication, image capture, and image processing approach to overcome these challenges for long-term quantitative measurement of cell lineages.
