Abstract: In this paper, we present the defining aspects, the history and the functions of the ampersand (&) in Romanian and French, offering many examples of current usage and some rules for correct use. The ampersand is placed between two words/abbreviations to indicate their association in a copulative coordination relationship and appears most frequently in company names or logos, usually formed from two proper nouns. & is a sign used in the commercial field, on account of its economic and decorative advantages, being also be considered an auxiliary marker of internal punctuation, used with the meaning of the conjunction and outside the commercial field.ntended to prove how Algerian humour and, more particularly, the parodic adaptations of the tale can enrich the universe of this mythical story and contribute to transmedia storytelling. Consequently, do Grimm's tales lose their primary meaning and lend themselves to a new interpretation or do they preserve the original storyline in this audiovisual transposition?
