Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Clinical Trial
Abstract: The Alpha generation is highly adept at digital technology. While using electronic devices has many benefits, parents are concerned about them. Addiction, physical problems, and psychological and social issues are among the concerns of parents regarding their children’s intense exposure to gadgets. This study aims to increase the competency of parents with alpha-generation children through psychoeducation titled “How to Turn Our Children into Internet Savvy.” The approach of this study is quantitative, using a single-group, pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study includes 20 parents and teachers of TK ABA 3 Batu City. The study used a manipulation check on parenting digital knowledge before and after the psychoeducation activity. After paired sample T-Test, the difference between the pretest and post-test was t=-5,69 p<0.01, which means the psychoeducation was able to significantly improve participant’s understanding of a parental role in setting regulation and protecting children of the Alpha generation from gadget excessive use.
