Abstract: Glyptothorax bhurainu sp. nov. and Glyptothorax himalaicus sp. nov. are described from the Ganges River basin in Uttarakhand, India. The two new species can be distinguished from all congeners by a combination of characters including the presence of plicae on ventral surfaces of pectoral spine and first pelvic-fin ray, morphology of the thoracic adhesive apparatus and dorsal-fin spine, and distinct colour pattern. Glyptothorax dakpathari is revalidated based on examination of the type series.
