Design and Implementation of an Advanced Control Algorithm for Industrial Boiler Pressure Control Applications

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: An The design and implementation of control algorithms for industrial boiler systems are essential for precise pressure and temperature regulation in industries like dairy production, chemical processing, and power generation.Boiler systems operate under dynamic and nonlinear conditions, making stable control a challenge.Conventional controllers struggle with varying loads and nonlinear behavior, leading to inefficiencies. This project investigates control strategies, including Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control, Fuzzy Logic-based control, and Model Predictive Control (MPC).MATLAB simulations evaluate their performance under industrial conditions.PID control offers simplicity and reliability, Fuzzy Logic adapts to uncertainties, and MPC utilizes predictive modeling for optimized decision-making.Performance comparisons focus on precision, energy efficiency, adaptability, and robustness. The study identifies the most effective approach for maintaining stable operation, reducing energy consumption, and ensuring consistent output quality.Enhanced pressure and temperature regulation improve process efficiency, safety, and operational cost reduction while minimizing environmental impact. The findings support industries reliant on thermal-intensive processes, such as food processing and energy generation, by providing a framework for implementing advanced control strategies. The results highlight the potential of innovative algorithms to optimize operations, minimize waste, and uphold high safety standards, aligning with the growing demand for sustainable industrial solutions.
