Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This study examines the development and composition of music textbooks and teacher guides reflecting the 2022 revised special education curriculum, with a focus on fostering emotional and creative capacities in students with disabilities.Using literature review, content analysis, and case studies, the study identifies limitations in current music textbooks, which often fail to address the diverse learning characteristics of special education students. The findings emphasize the need for systematic and comprehensive resources tailored to individual needs. The proposed music textbooks and guides are structured around the core areas of music education-expression, creation, and appreciation-designed to facilitate self-directed learning and creative exploration. They incorporate innovative teaching methods utilizing digital and AI tools, providing interactive and adaptive learning opportunities that enrich students' musical experiences and promote skill development.By aligning content with students' developmental stages and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), these resources aim to create an inclusive and effective educational framework. While this study primarily addresses elementary and middle school levels, it highlights the necessity for further research to develop high school-level materials and expand educational programs for students with diverse disabilities.Additionally, it calls for longitudinal evaluations to assess the practical effectiveness of digital and AI-enhanced music education tools.
