Abstract: Scientific achievements in the natural sciences, such as biology, chemistry, physics, etc. are changing so rapidly that they require constant development in this area. A modern specialist in the natural sciences must have knowledge not only in his/her narrow specialisation, but also in related disciplines in order to be more competitive, adaptive, creative and effective in solving complex scientific and applied problems. It is impossible to achieve this goal without developing creative skills and a creative personality, which is the driving force for the formation of scientific competence. The modern challenges faced by scientists require not only technical knowledge but also the ability to be creative in problem solving and critical thinkers. However, the modern education system is often focused on memorising facts rather than developing these skills, so there is a need to introduce methods and technologies for developing creative abilities in the educational process when forming the professional competences of science specialists. Accordingly, teachers use a variety of technologies that promote creative development in the classroom. These include interactive teaching methods, problembased learning, information and communication technologies, critical thinking technologies, innovative projects, etc. The introduction of these technologies in the educational process contributes to more effective learning and the development of creative abilities of higher education students in the natural sciences. It helps to develop cognitive skills and the ability to think outside the box, promotes better learning of complex concepts, develops the ability to work in a team, think creatively and integrate knowledge from different fields of science.
