Abstract: Waste management is a critical environmental and public health issue requiring innovative engineering solutions. The increasing volume and complexity of waste, driven by urbanization and industrialization, necessitate sustainable waste management strategies. This paper examines various aspects of waste management, including its definition, challenges, environmental impacts, and the principles of sustainability. The role of innovative technologies such as bioremediation, composting, and IoT-based waste monitoring systems is discussed. Case studies of successful waste management projects demonstrate the effectiveness of integrated approaches. The study concludes that a shift towards circular economy models and public participation is essential for sustainable waste management. Keywords: Waste management, sustainability, circular economy, waste reduction, recycling, bioremediation, composting.
