Type: article
Abstract: This study examines the seasonal toxicity patterns of novel insecticides and botanical combinations against Leucinodes orbonalis in Bhubaneswar. Managing this pest is challenging due to its resistance to conventional insecticides, leading to significant brinjal yield losses. This research evaluates the efficacy of spinetoram, tetraniliprole and emamectin benzoate, individually and in combination with plant extracts and piperonyl butoxide (PBO). Spinetoram exhibited the highest toxicity, followed by tetraniliprole and emamectin benzoate. The study also revealed strong synergistic effects, particularly with PBO, enhancing insecticide efficacy. These findings highlight the importance of integrating botanical extracts with insecticides for effective pest management.
