Financial Report Implementation Training for SMEs fostered by Rumah BUMN Sumsel

Abstract: Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in the Indonesian economy, with significant contributions to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and employment absorption. However, one of the main challenges faced by MSMEs is the lack of systematic financial recording and reporting. This can hinder their access to bank financing and better business decision-making. Rumah BUMN Sumsel as a forum for fostering MSMEs also faces similar problems, where most of the fostered MSMEs do not have good financial reporting and have not received training related to the preparation of financial reports for MSMEs systematically. This training aims to improve the understanding and skills of MSMEs in preparing financial reports that are more structured and in accordance with simple accounting standards. The methods used in this activity include three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation. At the implementation stage, participants are given material on financial reports and the importance of recording transactions, as well as direct practice using Excel templates that have been designed with automatic formulas to facilitate report preparation. The results of the evaluation showed that participants thought that the material provided was very appropriate to their needs, this training improved their understanding of financial reports, and experienced increased skills in preparing financial reports using Microsoft Excel. With the systematic Excel format, MSMEs can more easily prepare their financial reports, so that it is expected to support business development and their access to bank financing.
