The case against enforcing the Article 2 TEU values independently

Abstract: This post challenges the idea that Art. 2 TEU can serve as an autonomous legal basis for enforcement. Using Case C-769/22 as a starting point, it argues that Art. 2 is not self-executing but requires a link to specific Treaty provisions within the material scope of EU law.
