Cultural Code of the Nation: Enriching of the Experience of the Past and Designing the Future

Abstract: The article deals with topical issues of ethnic identification of the people, determined by socio-cultural parameters, the leading of which is the cultural code of the nation. The author theoretically comprehended the essence and role of this concept, considering the cultural code as the main trend in the socio-cultural development of a people (understood as a special ethnic community characterized by such parameters as ethnic identity, self-designation, the degree of clarity of distinctive features from other nations, the stability of existence, individual socio-cultural features). The article highlights the importance of national self-determination in this particular era of globalization, which affects all spheres of society's existence: political, economic, cultural, social, and so on. The author has profoundly and evidently characterized the main factors influencing the construction of the future of the nation, understood as a historically formed community of people
