Abstract: Today, probation work faces multiple challenges connected with the development of technology (AI/ADM), social and economic changes, and transformations in the conducted criminal policies. This text tries to answer the basic questions about the direction of probation work’s development, including the fundamental question regarding its social rehabilitation potential, which defined its essence through the last two centuries.
