Surgical Reconstruction of the Metatarsal Pad Using 2nd Digital Pad in a Dog

Abstract: Phalangeal fillet technique (PFT) is one of the surgical reconstructive techniques for digital pad transfer. A mixed breed dog of 2 month weighing 1.75 kg was presented with severe injured on the footpads of right hind limb. After debridement of the damaged area, PFT using 2nd digital pad transfer was performed for reconstruction of the metatarsal pad. The transferred pad permitted weigh-bearing on that limb successfully without any complications.
