Abstract: The type material of Myrmarachne calcuttaensis Biswas, 1984 kept at the Zoological Survey of India, Kolkata, has been studied. M. calcuttaensis syn. n. is recognized as a junior synonym of M. melanocephala MacLeay, 1839.
