First record of Temnorhynchus baal Reiche et Saulcy, 1856 from Sardinia (Italy) (Coleoptera Scarabaeidae Dynastinae)

Abstract: Temnorhynchus baal Reiche et Saulcy, 1856 (Coleoptera Scarabaeidae Dynastinae) is reported for the first time in Sardinia (Italy) on the basis of three records, one record made in the year 2003 along the coastal areas of Cagliari and the other two, made in the year 2024, in two localities along the South-Eastern coast of the island. The pest status of the species in the eastern Mediterranean basin is briefly discussed as well as the historical expansion of this species in the Palaearctic area.
