Inside political action: a proposal for investigating the internal problems of collective action

Abstract: This text aims to develop a research agenda to analyze the internal problems of collective action based on the theoretical contributions of French pragmaticsociology. Following a brief presentation of this approach, I argue that focusing on the dimension of agency (both human and non-human), critical moments, the value-driven dimension of social life, and the role of devices in social relations can theoretically and methodologically enrich empirical research on collective action, drawing on the classic bibliography of social movement theories
