Exploring the Influence of Cloud Computing on Supply Chain Performance:the Moderating Role of Market Uncertainty
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Cloud computing, as a disruptive and innovative technology, significantly alters the existing IT usage model, which will bring a series of supply chain performance changes and create new IT value. Nevertheless, there have been limited studies examining this phenomenon, and existing research lacks clarity on how cloud computing affects supply chain performance. Researchers have not sufficiently revealed the mechanism of cloud computing's impact in supply chain situations. Based on survey data from Chinese businesses that use cloud computing, this paper uses Smart PLS 3.0 software to do a partial least squares analysis to look into how the capabilities of cloud computing affect the performance of the supply chain. We divide cloud computing technical capabilities into two groups based on the IT capability theory: Flexible IT Infrastructure and Cloud/Business Synergy. We also add market uncertainty as a moderating variable to see how cloud computing technical capabilities affect supply chain performance. This research offers fresh insights for both practical and theoretical understanding of cloud computing technology.
