The problem of insecurity of public buildings in the context of safer architectural environment design

Abstract: The tragic events of our time force architects and related specialists to reflect not only on the issues of dealing with critical consequences of emergency situations, but also on their prerequisites. In most cases, structural engineering and technical means of protection are used to ensure the safety of public buildings. This study analyzes international experiences in designing administrative, cultural and leisure and educational facilities regarding possible architectural safety criteria, which suggests a number of problems that require special attention when creating protected public spaces.
