Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) has undergone multiple developmental stages since its inception in 1956 and has emerged as a significant force driving economic and social progress. This paper provides an overview of AI's role and responsibility in society, deeply analyzing current research statuses, hot topics, controversies, and future directions. Through literature review and case analysis, the paper explores how AI promotes social advancement and improves quality of life, while also posing ethical, legal, and social issues. Correspondingly, solutions and recommendations are proposed.
