Abstract: Continuing her previous text on writing and filming through the body, Ira A. Goryainova explores the dynamic between the politics of the gaze and the power of the image. In proposing to consider the gaze as a border experience, she tries to grope and comprehend that border. In this auto-fictional essay, she turns herself into an object and revisits some of the seminal theoretical works, weaving a fabric in which transgressive behaviour, eugenics, medical imaging and Western art history intertwine with her own practice.
