Prevalence of Extracutaneous Malignancies in Patients with Basal Cell Carcinoma: A Retrospective Cohort Study (2015–2024)
Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: Background: Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most prevalent skin cancer globally, largely attributed to ultraviolet (UV) exposure. Emerging epidemiological evidence suggests an elevated risk of developing second primary extracutaneous cancers (SPCs) in patients with a previous or subsequent BCC diagnosis. However, comprehensive data on this association remains limited.
