Monitoring Changes in Age and Diagnostic Severity of Melanoma Patients from 2005 to 2023: A Single-Center Experience
Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: Background: The incidence of invasive cutaneous melanoma is rising worldwide. Despite this alarming data, the literature reports that much of this increase corresponds to a trend in the diagnosis of in situ and low-risk cutaneous melanoma, particularly tumors with a thickness of ≤ 1 mm, since the 2000s. This may be the result of more effective secondary prevention efforts and increased awareness of melanoma. We report our single-center experience, evaluated the changes in age and diagnostic severity over time, considering patients with cutaneous melanoma.
