A Case Series Demonstrating The Diagnostic Value of Optical Super-High Magnification Dermoscopy For Pigmented Skin Lesions
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Background: Advancements in optical technologies have revolutionized melanoma diagnosis. An example is the recent emergence of super high-magnification dermoscopy (OSHMD). OSHMD lenses incorporated into digital high resolution dermoscopy allow 400x magnification of structures not observable at conventional dermoscopy level such as melanocytes, cellular arrangements and morphology, pigment incontinence and erythrocytes. This provides a convenient bedside device operated by clinicians with a view as magnified as Reflective Confocal Microscopy(RCM) with reduced cost, in real time and colour.
