Abstract: Introduction. In traditional approaches to well-being and its diagnostics, the main attention is focused on two aspects - the subjective experience of satisfaction / happiness and the positive psychological functioning and development of the individual. At the same time, the relationship of the individual with their environments usually remains out of the researchers' focus, although it is on them that the individual's experience of well-being largely depends. Thus, according to the ecopsychological approach we are talking about the well-being of the individual. Despite the fact that certain elements of this issue are present in popular well-being research tools, we have not found any specific instruments for studying well-being. Aim: based on the ecopsychological model of well-being, to develop a methodology for its empirical study. Methods: theoretical analysis of the problem, analysis and systematization of the existing well-being research tools, methods of statistical data processing, structuring and generalization of the obtained results. Results. On the basis of the authors' theoretical model of well-being in line with the ecopsychological paradigm, an instrument for measuring the level of well-being was developed. It is based on the idea of the relationship of the individual with their environments, which correspond to the basic processes of organizing a person's own life - provision, organization and implementation, and the corresponding key idea, the nature of social support and experience. The pilot empirical study allowed testing the reliability of the theoretically selected scales and, by means of the confirmatory factor analysis, the theoretical construct underlying the methodology of well-being. Conclusions. The proposed methodology is one of the first tools for studying the well-being of an individual using the ecopsychological approach. The scales of the methodology were shown to have a high level of consistency and a significant correspondence to the theoretical model.
